Pierre RIBA
Born in 1935 in Ardèche, France
Lives and works in the South of France and Spain
At a young age, Pierre Riba was marked by the volcanic, eroded scenery of the Ardèche department, as well as by his family’s silkworm business. He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Lyon and Paris and has held a variety of positions: starting as a painter in the 1960s-1970s, he then worked as a draughtsman, an architect, a landscape artist and an illustrator, before taking an interest in sculpture, in which he would quickly dedicate himself to a material whose physical possibilities won him over: corrugated cardboard.
