The artist is of Greek origin on her father’s side, the composer Iannis Xenakis, and French on her novelist mother’s side. She has a love of letters and of the arts right to the core, and is attracted towards what is different. “My sculptures in fact have this element of strangeness in them. As they are silent, they cannot use words to untie all these knots…” At the end of the 1980s, she had a decisive encounter with Louise Bourgeois in New York, to whom she dedicated a work “The blind leading the blind.” “Drawing and sculpture express what I feel in a primary way, an instinctive way, to master the chaos and to take my sculptures out of silence.”
