Juliaan Andeweg’s work focuses on the effects of matter on space. He likens painting to a somewhat romantic form of contemporary alchemy. Selfdefining as an urban individual who enjoys racing cars and pop music, he employs contemporary materials in his art, such as train paints and polyester resins. His pictorial pieces are almost like sculptures. For the artist, they create new spatial experiences whilst at the same time serving as a screen.
