Bernard PRAS
Mappemonde RAJA
Cardboard, paint, mixed media. Installation made with various packaging materials
280 x 300 x 300 cm
Like Arcimboldo, the manneristic 16th century Italian painter, Bernard Pras created an installation for Raja whose overall composition only truly takes shape for the spectator through photography which recreates the at image pursued by the artist. This is the principle of anamorphosis, the reversible deformation of an image by means of an optical system. Using Raja boxes laid out like a model of a large city, he recreates a map of the world showing the company’s international reach.
