Stéphane CIPRE
Born in 1968 in Paris, France
Lives and works in Nice, France
Sculptor Stéphane Cipre reworks the writing of words and objects. He personifies them and showcases them on transport pallets or in the form of shipping containers. Stéphane Cipre has excellent control of the matter he sculpts, particularly aluminium, offering us pieces of great technical prowess for poetic writing. Before devoting himself to sculpture, Stéphane Cipre’s first studio career was in fashion, under the watchful eyes of a father designated a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman in France). In the 1990s, he swapped the sewing studio for a sculpture studio. In the space of a decade, the contemporary artist established himself with French and European galleries and saw his work incorporated into the collections of a number of international foundations.
