The Ciris Vell’s work has gone through a radical evolution. While beginning with the figuration of the female form, the artist has shifted towards abstract and symbolic representations, whose origins come directly from Kabbalistic dreams. Working in a tactile medium, Ciris Vell uses recovered materials and those involving sand, metal and other varied objects. In working with oxidation, hammering, welding, she raises these raw materials to the level of works of art. Her compositions acquire a higher, universal status and transcend both the material and the form. The transition from simple matter to a spiritual state is emphasised by apposition in works incorporating the use of a deep and clear blue, akin to that International Klein Blue, which marks the new creation.
