“Even before being able to write, I was constantly drawing as a child, and I also modelled many little people in wax”, explains Mâkhi Xenakis as she discusses the genesis of her work. In 2004, she created a horde of people for the Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris named The Insane of Hell, very close to the spirit of these impish blue creatures.
