Jean-François AUBER
Sans titre
Black paper, formed on resin
72 x 108 cm
From 2006 to 2010, he produced a series of pieces made from wrapping paper moulded on fibreglass. His method is similar to that of a botanist taking the greatest care to preserve his latest find in its natural condition. The technique he uses involves giving form to the veined paper whilst preserving its origins. When we examine his Sans titre and Papillote compositions, we can glimpse their former lives in them.
